COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli has urged Kenyans to not sit idley as their fellow Kenyan is being beaten by a foreigner. His sentiments which too many seem as incitement has once seen Starehe Mp Charles Njagua Kanyi arrested and released for making a similar sentiment.

The video clip of a Kenyan employee being caned by a Chinese national has now opened up an old wound between Kenyans and foreigners.

The Secretary General for Central Organization of Trade Union while applauding the move by Interior Cabinet Secretary Doctor Fred Matiangi for deporting four Chinese nationals who were involved in the caning of a Kenyan at a restaurant in Kileleshwa, Nairobi county.

Many have seen Atwoli’s statement as an incitement and they have rekindled a similar speech last year by Starehe member of parliament Charles Njangua.

The remarks by the legislator landed him on the wrong side of the law and was arrested but released on a cash bail.

Begging the question is Atwoli’s remarks similar to that of the legislator and if so what are the reputations of such sentiments.

The words by the leader could also have diplomatic turmoil between Xi Xipings and Uhuru government.
