Australian senator who hails from Nyeri county Lucy Gichuhi has called for support of devolved functions of government in order to move to the country forward. Addressing members of the fourth estate senator says institutions such as senate should not be scrapped off despite the ballooning wage bill.
According to senator Gichuhi, countries like Kenya should not concentrate on looking at what the developed world powers are doing.
Lucy says it would be unfair to compare the Australian and Kenyan democracies as Australia is more developed.
She urges Kenyans and their leaders to accept the situation and stop comparisons with other countries and support devolved units the senator who is visiting Kenya for a month said she was happy that Kenya had adopted the new constitution and was implementing devolution which she noted would impact the lives of Kenyans across the country.
