The Kenyan government is closely monitoring the situation in South Sudan stating its desire to see normalcy restored in Africa’s youngest state. Government spokesman Erick Kiraithe says, as a regional partner and in respect to the august peace agreement, they are committed towards ensuring peace is restored.
He has urged all stakeholders in the youngest African state to ensure its citizens enjoy the benefits of its rich resources by embracing peace.
Kiraithe also condemned the recent terror attack in Somalia that claimed the lives of 18 people.
He says the attack is a desperate attempt to instilling fear in AMISOM troops.
Efforts to achieve regional stability is key to economic stability and may be achieved through cooperation of member states.
