A businessman in Embu has been arraigned in court and charged with defiling a 15 year old form 2 student from Kangaru Girls high school. The incident is said to have occurred after the man lured the girl into a hotel room and defiled her for two days.
The girl who is said to have been sent away from school on Friday, took a detour and went to a lodging where she had arranged to meet with one of her teachers instead of heading home. It is at the lodging where the girl met with a businessman, Kennedy Gitonga Kaburu who lured her into the hotel room and defiled her for two days.
Kennedy Gitonga Kaburu was brought before the Embu Senior Resident Magistrate, Jean Ndengeri where he was charged with sexual misconduct and indecent act with a minor. He was released on a ksh 200,000 bond with the cases fixed for pretrial on 29 may 2018.
The accused is said to have been sent by the teacher to book the lodging room for him. He however went ahead with the heinous act of rape. Upon realizing the matter that involved a minor, the owner of the lodging informed the police.
Attempts to talk to the school’s administration were futile however, it is alleged that Kangaru school administration colluded with some senior police officers to downplay the saga and the girl was sneaked back to school on Sunday evening. It is with the vigilance of a senior officer who went ahead to pursue the matter and brought the case to justice.
