The county of Bungoma is today playing host to two warring political factions Jubilee and NASA.
President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading his jubilee side in a vicious vote hunt in the county and his tent is pitched in Sirisia constituency while Raila Odinga will be at Posta grounds with his Gospel of ‘No Reforms No Elections’.
Even though both are in the vast vote rich region but on different missions, Jubilee seeking to woo the voters while NASA preaching its gospel of no reforms no elections.
This comes in the wake of calls for the two leaders to hold talks to resolve the ongoing political stalemate but remains a mirage as both hold onto hard stance.
On Wednesday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati hinted at a proposal to have the two protagonist leaders hold talks but President Kenyatta’s utterances indicate the doors are not open.
Kenyatta and his Jubilee brigade are seemingly leaving nothing to chance as they crisscross the country and as they encroach on Bungoma County dangling the bait of goodies.
As the election date lies five days away, Odinga officially withdrew from the race insisting he couldn’t go to a predetermined contest but Kenyatta warns Odinga about his threat to boycott.
Whether or not Odinga’s gospel of no reforms no elections and Kenyatta’s wooing of voters is entrenched in their support bases will be manifested on the 26th next week.
