Premier League clubs Chelsea and Arsenal came through unscathed in the latest Europa league action with victories over Hungarian champions Vidi and Qarabag respectively on Thursday.

Asenal center back Sokratis Papastathopoulos headed the gunners infront in the early minutes of the first half.

18 year old Emile Smith Rowe slotted in his first senior goal for Arsenal in the 53rd minute after Alex Iwobi selflessly played him into space.

Matteo  Guendouzi killed Qarabag’s hope for a comeback after he skillfully found space outside the box to score his first goal for the gunners in the 78th  minute.

Elsewhere, Chelsea secured a 1-0 over Hungarian side Mol Vidi at the Stamford Bridge. Chelsea had  a host of chances to go infront as emerson palmieri danced  through 4 challenges only to blast the ball over the cross bar in the early stages of the match.

A clever fick from brazilian winger Willian found Alvaro Morata and the spanish striker made no mistake at the six yard box, scoring chelsea’s win 20 minutes from time.

Qarabag pushed back, coming close to an equalizer in the 86th minute but Chelsea’s goal keeper Arrizabalaga was up to task diving at full stretch to stop the shot.

Chelsea now sits at the top of group L with a maximum of 6 points after two consequtive wins ahead of PAOK Salonika and Bate Borisov who share three points leaving Mol Vidi at the bottom of the group.

Other matches saw both Sporting Lisbon and Bayern Leverkusen come from a goal behind secure 2-1 and 4-2 wins over Vorskla and Ludogorets respectively, while group B action saw Celtic thrash Salzburg by 3-1 as Leipzig regisered a 3-1 away to Rosenborg.
