Rebel opposition politicians and a section of Jubilee leaders have taken advantage of the recent resignation of ODM’s top party officials, to poke holes into Raila Odinga’s style of leadership.
Now, Kilifi North Member of Parliament Gideon Mung’aro, has predicted the death of Orange Democratic Movement Party-ODM before the 2017 general elections. Mung’aro says Kenya’s biggest political party is gradually witnessing it’s natural death following the defection of its top leaders. He has blamed CORD leader Raila Odinga’s dictatorial leadership as the key reason.
Former Minority Chief Whip Gideon Mung’aro, who officially announced his end of relationship with ODM and CORD, is the latest politician to join the fray of those predicting the end of the Orange Party. Mung’aro says, ODM is yet to witness desertion en-mass.
He says by 2017 even the party leader Raila Odinga would have resigned from the party.
Bitterly, the Kilifi North MP has accused Raila of dictatorship. He has at the same time announced that the coastal region will make a major statement in regards to the political direction its leaders intend to take.
ODM is currently treading on a murky ground following the resignation of its Secretary General Ababu Namwamba and Vice Chair Paul Otuoma.
The resignations notwithstanding, ODM risks losing grip of its control in Western Kenyan. Further to this the South Nyanza region is also said to be slipping away from Raila’s control.
