Last night R. Kelly was living it up and celebrating his birthday at a nightclub in Chicago. However, police reportedly showed up to the club after receiving a call about a warrant for his arrest.
According to TMZ, R. Kelly was partying at V75 Chicago when someone called the police to say that he was there and he had a warrant for his arrest.
Law enforcement sources confirmed to the site that police did show up to the club and made contact with R. Kelly. However, once they determined there was NO actual arrest warrant for him, he was able to continue with the rest of his night.
At the moment, it is unclear if the person who called the police was pranking R. Kelly, or if they thought there really was a warrant out for his arrest. However, police told TMZ, they respond to such calls just to make sure.
As for the party, it was the first time R. Kelly was spotted out since the airing of the new Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly.”
