Two secondary school girls aged 16 and 18 , form onr and two respectively at Harvest Secondary School Niarobi , who are suspected to have been kidnapped in Nairobi last month are in police custody at Ukwala Police Station in Siaya County. They were found at a home in Kabuyu village , Ugenya sub-county .

The students from Kitui and Murang’a went missing after schools had closed, with the incident being reported at Muthaiga Police Station in Nairobi on August 22.

According to the area residents, the students were rescued from the home in Siaya following a police operation led by Ugenya DCIO in collaboration with area Assistant Chief Rosemary Omudho.

The girls were arrested together with a 20-year-old man said to be a brother to the suspect who is alleged to have kidnapped the girls.

Ugenya OCPD Willy Simba confirmed the arrests saying investigations had been launched to establish the motive behind the incident.

The suspect behind the alleged kidnapping had reportedly demanded a Ksh.1 million ransom from the parents of the girls.
