Former Chama Cha Uzalendo party leader Wavinya Ndeti has trounced Machakos deputy governor Bernard Kiala for the controversial Wiper gubernatorial nominations.
Wavinya Ndeti will now take on the incumbent Dr Alfred Mutua of Maendeleo Chap Chap.
The iron lady of Machakos was announced the winner with a landslide victory after garnering a total of 299,312 votes against her close competitor Machakos deputy governor Bernard Kiala with 4,663 votes.
In her acceptance speech, Ndeti thanked the her supporters and asked Kiala to come on board so that they can team up and work together as she prepares for a bruising battle against the incumbent Dr Alfred Mutua.
Kiala who maintains the exercise was illegal since it was in contempt of court has dismissed the nominations results terming it as unfair and unjust.
On his part, Machakos governor rubbished the results saying it is a shame that the wiper party cooked figures which do not represent the voting patterns of the people of Machakos.
